Enough on the 1990's already damn it! by Boschian-Fantasies Enough on the 1990's already damn it! by Boschian-Fantasies
If I am sick to death about what people go on and on and on about, it's about the 1990s.

Yeah, we got it! You love 1990s cartoon and would refuse to watch cartoons made before that era. I got it! We don't give a shit!

I also think it is stupid to like something, just because it was made in the 1990s. Like something for being good quality, not just the decade it was made.

Man, nostalgia tards are some of THE most annoying group of people I've ever come across.

Am I the only one that prefers a lot of what is seen in the modern era because I never got to watch TV or play video games that much so many years ago?

I hold no nostalgia for the 90s or early 2000s because of:

Outdated video game design that just didn’t work. And the fact a good majority of the cartoons and movies from that era were painful to sit through.

Most of the SatAM cartoons from the 1990s were super preachy about the moral/educational message, that it turned kids like myself off of TV.

The only SatAM cartoons I did like were Rugrats and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. But I’m not one to whine about how they won’t come back. I bought the DVDs for APNSD for a reason.

I do like a lot of Nicktoons and Cartoon Network back then, but that was it.
I'm not an insane obsessie like the 1990's kids are.

Trust me, I’m the same way. With advancements in technology, I’m able to watch modern TV on my tablet while I use my phone at the same time.

I’ll take cheesy comedy over action that would just bore me to death any day of the week. Never mind the fact I wasn’t really into TV or video games until WAY later in my lifespan.

Agreed! Some of my top favorite series, characters, and whanot that I like most happen to be from the 90s (mainly CatDog, SpongeBob, Gravitation, Sailor Moon, Sonic, etc.), but I don't like them because they're from the 90s. I like them because they all have neat characters, designs, and stories, and I love drawing them a lot. Same things with some of the toys, books, and things I like today as well as back then.  These fucking 90s tards however, are ruining everything with their OMG 90S ARE THE BEST CRAP! and make me ashamed to like certain things because of it. The funny thing is, many of the ones in the Nicktoons fandom only like CatDog because it's from the 90s and is no longer around, yet many of them bitch and moan about the show constantly as well as bash the few genuine fans  who actually enjoy it for what it is and has.  Many people have the same attitude about 90s anime (especially Sailor Moon and Pokemon) in general and act like it's only good because it FROM THE 90S. What disgusts me about nostalgiatards is how many of them treat younger kids and teens as well as adults who didn't like the 90s as much as they did. I remember seeing this gif of kids no older than 10 looking at the original GameBoy, and tons of shitheads in the comments were flaming them for not knowing what it was or for calling it weird. Sorry we don't all know what certain things from an era before ours are like.  Even with other eras and fandoms, they act like cunts over it.  These fucks were yelling at a propmaker on Tumblr who made a special Iron Man Halloween costume for his premature son (the baby was hooked up to machines and both parents were extremely stressed out), being all like WAAH BABIES DONT KNOW WHAT IRON MAN IS , MAKE SHIT FOR OLDER KIDS WHO ACTUALLY NEED IT AND KNOW WHAT IRON MAN IS, WAAH11 How dare someone cope with their child's predicament and comfort them, THE HORROR!

What I find most hypocritical about 90s tards is that many of the series they like weren't even from the 90s. Looney Tunes and Mickey Mouse existed long before the 90s, and while Cartoon Network and Disney Channel showed them quite a lot, that doesn't automatically mean they're from the 90s. Also, it's funny how many of them praise the 90s for being less PC, yet they all flip their shit whenever Disney makes a character that isn't they're kind of POC or princess (looking at you, Disney fandom), someone doesn't draw the Steven Universe characters exactly like in the show (fat, dark, whatever), and bitch about YouTubers like PewdiePie using Nazi jokes. Hell, I remember the time a lot of people bitched about the SpongeBob episode One Coarse Meal because of Plankton's suicide attempt, but then turned around and told Paul Tibbitt and some of the other writers to kill themselves.  To a lesser extent, so many people got pissed over the Fairly OddParents episode It's a Wishful Life because of Timmy saying he wish he was never born, never mind that Rugrats and Johnny Bravo aired similar episodes nearly a decade before that one. It's even funnier when they cry about fart jokes in today's and 2000's cartoons, yet conveniently gloss over the fact that many 90s cartoons did that kinda crap too.

Also, they forgot that many of the things they need now wasn't even widely available then. Many of the ones who whine about how people don't care about suicide, depression, disabled people or LGBT folks forget that  there was even less tolerance and understanding of those things in the 90s, as well as less research and information.  Hell, when I was first diagnosed with Autism at 3 years old, the first thing the doctor told my mom was to put me in an institution, and this was in 1995, Nineteen Ninety Fucking Five.  To make matters worse, there were even less resources for disabled kids back then, and the one school I went to specifically for disabled kids for about a year or two was complete hell, and it didn't help that my asshole relatives belittled my mom and dad over my issues at the time. It sure must be wonderful to live in a time where people still think it's okay to lock disabled kids up in an asylum, boy I am sure missing out on the 90s. I like the 90s, but I don't really miss it except for the little things, and I don't think it or any decade is all that great.

What I despise in this day and era, is that people are romanticizing mental illness, suicide and self mutilation, as if they were cool, hip and trendy. I find that very insulting and offensive, and I am faaaaaaar from an SJW.

Yeah, these fags do get annoying.

What I really hate is when 90's fags claim SpongeBob is a 90's cartoon but it didn't reach it's popularity until 2001-2002 which makes it a 2000's cartoon.

The only modern cartoons they will watch are My Little Pony, Phineas and Ferb and anything that is currently on Cartoon Network aside from Uncle Grandpa or Teen Titans Go.

They will whine about things like Family Guy, Teen Titans Go, Breadwinners, Despicable Me's Minions, modern Fairly OddParents, modern SpongeBob and The Looney Tunes Show.

Honestly, the only modern cartoons that bother me that much are Teen Titans Go and Breadwinners but I'm not going to whine about them if I don't like them. SpongeBob will still often have it's good moments. If they don't like it just forget about it and don't bother people who do like it.

Although I was born in the 1990's I hate people who praise one decade just for its popular culture. The 1990's had flaws, just like any other decade. There was societal problems, the rise of "Reality Television" and associated "Celebrity Culture", assassinations, terrorism and there was children being murdered by children. The only things I like from the 1990's was Game Shows and the science from that era. Personally, I prefer the 2000's and 2010's, even if they have flaws. All decades have bad points and good points.

Coming from someone born in the 90's, the closest of fond memories I remotely have were mostly from the old Disney Channel, which broadcast the classic Disney Shorts made long before the 90's.  Aside from that, 90's cartoons were  no better.  Not counting the older stuff like Popeye, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones (aka Loony Toons) and Mickey Mouse shorts some of us got to see that time, we had cruddier cartoons from both Cartoon Network and Nicktoons.  Sure there were decent shows like the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab for example, there were also other shows that I never get their appeal.

Animatics, I can understand a lot of people were fond of the show (despite me not having much of a nostalgic softspot for it), but others like Rant and Skimpy and Rugrats (even though that's been dying down for a while) just doesn't hold any water for me.  Not a lot of them truly stood out to me.  I can remember at least one episode from a particular show either bit by bit or word by word (as in entirely).  In hindsight, not a lot was appealing in the 90's other than the Disney Renaissance itself.

I only remembered being gaga over the Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon (my parents used to toss the cards away whenever I bought them home from a Speech class in grade school) and Sailor Moon, but later outgrew them.  I was one crazy kid during that time for crying out loud.

But, what truly made the 90's for me was...well, my family life.  That's all I can sum one positive trait about that era.  I may be nostalgic at certain times, but I also enjoy this time period, major pitfalls and all.  You can't always hold nostalgia for long, you can keep important pieces of it like photos, for instance.  Otherwise, even nostalgia can blind you to see both the good and bad in modern times.

At the same time, though, you'd have to be careful when treading the waters between what's nostalgic (therefore, memorable) and what's modern, especially when writing stories/film-making.  It's very easy to screw up a particular material when you don't establish the rules of what makes a classic a classic gem in any era to remember.

Maleficent, The Lorax and Jem and the Holograms movie are perfect examples of ruining people's childhood with pointless/juvenile modern jokes and unnecessary changes that don't work with an already established story at all.
